The Scottish Sunday Mail’s Marion Scott has missed out this time around in the Medical Journalists' Association's regional print journalist of the year award.
From a shortlist of four, this year’s award has gone to Sarah Brealey, a senior reporter with the Eastern Daily Press.
Brealey's winning entry was an in-depth feature in the Archant title about hospital food, and a front-page story about NHS plans to put some seriously ill people into care homes against their will.
The awards are held each year by the MJA to celebrate excellence in medical journalism, and most of those recognised in other categories were national reporters.
The remaining shortlisted candidates were Madeline Brindley, from Media Wales, and Liza Williams, of the Liverpool Echo and Daily Post.
