THE sales gap between the country’s two biggest-selling daily newspapers has narrowed for a fourth, successive month.
Say the May ABCs, the gap – as measured by Average Net Circulation – between sales in Scotland of the Sun and the Daily Record, was 39,183. In April, it was 40,547; in March, it was 43,414; and in February, it was 48,118.
In May, The Scottish Sun’s average daily sale in Scotland was 339,983 (compared to 344,753 in April), as opposed to the Record’s 300,800 (compared to 304,206 in April).
Meanwhile, the average sale in Scotland for the country’s biggest-selling newspaper, the Sunday Mail, was 358,108. In April, it was 369,624; in March, it was 372,229; and in February, it was 373,358.
Average Net Circulation figures include free give-aways. The figures were released at midday.
