THE sales gap between the country’s two biggest-selling daily newspapers has narrowed.
Say the March ABCs, the gap – as measured by Average Net Circulation – between sales in Scotland of the Sun and the Daily Record, was 43,414. In February, it was 48,118; in January, it was 42,023; and in December, it was 39,345.
In March, The Scottish Sun’s average daily sale in Scotland was 352,260 (compared to 354,468 in February), as opposed to the Record’s 308,846 (compared to 306,350 in February).
Meanwhile, the average sale in Scotland for the country’s biggest-selling newspaper, the Sunday Mail, was 372,229. In February, it was 373,358; in January, it was 378,321; and in December, it was 370,558.
Average Net Circulation figures include free give-aways. The figures were released at midday.
