THREE Scotland-based journalists are now entitled to call themselves ‘senior reporters’ as a result of passing an exam set by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Among the trio to have have passed the National Certificate Examination, the NCTJ’s senior examination, was Matt Meade, of Dunfermline Press, who was chosen best for logbook-keeping.
Meade was joined by Esther Hutcheson, of the Linlithgowshire Journal & Gazette, qnd Scott Inglis, of the East Fife Mail.
Adam Drummond, of the Berwick Advertiser, also passsed, after studying for the exam at Cardonald College, in Glasgow.
Said Meade of his award: “It was quite hard collating everything for the logbook. I was confident I had everything in place but I wasn’t sure if the examiners would see it that way but obviously they did.
“Working at the Dunfermline Press has given me a wide range of stories to cover, from court to sport and I’m very grateful for that.”
