THE Times’ Scotland-based journalist and columnist, Melanie Reid, has been seriously injured following a horseriding accident.
The former Sunday Mail and Herald journalist suffered spinal injuries after taking part – says the paper – in a cross-country training exercise in Perthshire at the weekend, when she fell from her horse after it refused at a jump.
The Times further adds that she was attended by a team from St John’s Ambulance and flown by Royal Navy helicopter to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.
