ONE of the local weekly newspaper flagships of The Scotsman publishers has seen its circulation dip between June last year and six months later, plus an even bigger dip between December 2008 and 12 months later.
The Falkirk Herald is one of dozens of local titles throughout the United Kingdom owned by Johnston Press.
And says the Audit Bureau of Circulation – in its twice-yearly sales review of UK regional newspapers – the title sold an average of 24,322 copies at the time of the auditing: December last year.
But compared to the average sale of the Falkirk Herald in June last year, December’s figure was down 5.3 per cent (from 25,685) and its year-on-year performance was down 7.5 per cent, from 26,307 in December 2008.
The ABC revealed its figures at the end of last week.
