JOURNALISTS who worked at the Edinburgh Evening News and The Scotsman during the 1990s are being invited to a reunion in Edinburgh next month.
The Jinglin’ Geordie pub – close to the papers’ former headquarters on the capital’s North Bridge – is the venue for the event, taking place on the 20th, from 6pm.
It is being organised by Victoria Masterson, a former Evening News and Scotsman business correspondent.
“The start of a new decade seemed like an ideal time to look back,” she said. “Whether they’re on staff, freelance or looking for work, journalists are working harder than ever these days, so need no excuse to let their hair down. Getting a bunch of us together like this is a great way to put the world to rights and show mutual support.
“The Jinglin’ Geordie also remains very warmly supportive of its old media friends.”
Victoria stresses that the get-together is not exclusive and that other journalists, creative types, their partners and friends will be “enthusiastically welcomed”.
