ONE of the many great reasons for living in Scotland is the series of mountain walk guides published by Pocket Mountains Ltd. The books are simply a class act, elegantly produced with some great photography.
Just added to their roster is a book detailing 40 of the best mountain bike routes in Scotland, compiled by Richard Moore and Andy McCandlish.
When he’s not writing books about cycling, or reporting the Tour de France (as he has just done), freelance journalist, Moore, is penning football match reports for the Sunday Herald and compiling a sports diary – titled Moore’s Almanac – once a week for The Scotsman.
McCandlish, meanwhile, is a freelance photographer, specialising in working for adventure sports magazines.
