THERE was a new look to parts of the Sunday Herald yesterday, not least a switch of its business pages from the rear of the tabloid main paper to the back of the broadsheet format of the newspaper’s Opinion section.
Editor, Richard Walker, devoted five pages of the 12-page Opinion section to business coverage, and, as there was no advertising on any of the five broadsheet pages, this allowed for maximum flexibility and flair in the lay-out.
The newspaper explained in its page two contents box: “The move gives business a new look, adding drama to our coverage and a new platform for our award-winning photography.”
In another innovation, the newspaper introduced a new five-page Analysis feature which, on its debut, majored on the ramifications of the ‘spy society’.
