BETWEEN five and nine staff and casual editorial posts are expected to be lost at the Express Newspaper titles in Scotland, following weekend reports that around 70 posts are at risk of redundancy throughout the group’s UK-wide operation.
It is understood that the final number of job losses at the Scottish Daily Express and the Scottish Daily Star – plus their respective Sunday titles – will depend on the number of suucessful applications for voluntary redundancy and the scale of any other savings that can be made at the newspapers.
It is believed that already among the near 50 staff and casual workers at the four titles some have already intimated an interest in applying for a voluntary redundancy package.
