WORKING journalists are being given the chance to brush up on their sub-editing skills, by enrolling on to a part-time course being launched by a Scottish college of further education.
The course is being offered by Cardonald College, in Glasgow.
Soon on the horizon for the college is a course on sports reporting.
Says Martin Boyle, journalism course leader at Cardonald: “These two new courses we aim to provide will be perfect for journalists looking to top up their existing skills and branch out into new fields. They are particularly useful as they are flexible, so they can be worked into a busy working journalist’s week.
“Our department is well respected in the industry and we aim to provide courses that reflect the demands of the sector and meet the needs of all students – whether they are already working in journalism or are just starting out in their career.”
Cardonald College is one of only four further and higher education training centres in Scotland offering courses accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
