THE by-election win on Thursday by Scots politician, George Galloway, was among the top three most written-about stories of last week among the UK’s main national newspapers and the BBC’s website.
Says a survey by the charity, the Media Standards Trust, Galloway’s success in the Bradford West by-election – where he took the seat from Labour by more than 10,000 votes – resulted in 128 articles.
Top was panic at a possible shortage of petrol (251 articles) with the resignation of Tory co-treasurer, Peter Cruddas (after he was caught on secret camera by The Sunday Times talking about donations and access to the Prime Minister) in second place with 170.
