FORMER Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, is one of two guest speakers at a lunch to raise funds for the Journalists’ Charity.
Darling is to be joined by lawyer, Paul McBride, at the event taking place three weeks tomorrow.
It is the latest fundraising initiative by the Glasgow and West of Scotland branch of the charity. At the last lunch, early last year, with David Cameron as the guest speaker, a sell-out crowd helped raise an estimated £25,000-plus.
A few tables for this year’s event are still available, at £500 for a table of ten – including wine.
