The press officer for Scottish Conservative MSPs is taking up a new posting, in the Dubai office of a financial and political communications agency.
Iain Gibson is second only to Ramsay Jones in the Scottish Tories' media office and is joining, as an associate, Finsbury, which describes itself as “one of the leading financial, regulatory and political communications agencies”.
With the Scottish Tories, he works mainly for the MSPs. He leaves at the end of next month and will be succeeded by Scott Douglas, who worked as a press assistant until the Scottish Parliament elections in May.
Gibson has been working in the Scottish Tories' media office for six years, six years, following his first job after university: working as a political aide at Westminster to James Duddridge MP, who is now a Government Whip.
