A keen commentator on the media, the MP, David Cairns, has died.
Say reports, he died yesterday evening, eight weeks after being admitted into intensive care, with acute pancreatitis. He was aged just 44 and was a former Scotland Office minister. He was MP for Inverclyde.
Last year, Cairns kindly donated an opinion piece to allmediascotland on local television.
