AN Oscar-nominated filmmaker has been added to the roster of speakers at an annual festival celebrating the best of Celtic TV, film and radio and this year taking place in Stornoway, on the Western Isles.
Tomm Moore, director of the Irish film, The Secret of Kells, is, say the organisers, to “give students at the Celtic Media Festival an insight into what is required to create an Oscar-winning animation and how it feels to go head to head with the heavyweight that is Pixar.”
Moore is one of a batch of new names added to the festival programme, which is taking place between April 13-15 and will see entries from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany, the Isle of Man and Cornwall competing for various prizes, including radio documentary, factual TV series and current affairs.
Also just lined up is David Sayer, the executive producer of the daytime TV programme, Come Dine with Me, now being made in 30 countries.
Ninety-eight production companies and personalities have been shortlisted across 19 prize categories.
