A service to celebrate the life of a highly-promising media student in Aberdeen is taking place next week, following his untimely death, at the age of just 21, from a brain haemorrhage.
Cameron Walker came top of his class at the city's Robert Gordon University, which earned him a work placement at AVC Media Enterprises in Aberdeen. He had also worked for the BBC and was involved with the Newcastle Film Festival – Northern Lights.
His father told the Press and Journal newspaper: “When we had family gatherings, he was always the outgoing one who got things going. He was larger than life.” His mother added: “You just have to look at Facebook at the moment to see. He was so well liked. He was always making films. He went round Aberdeen doing a lot of film work – getting people together. He loved to get out his video camera. He wanted to become a film director.”
As well as his passion for movies, Cameron was dedicated to raising money for charity, and earlier this year he completed the West Highland Way challenge to raise money for Clan, a North-east Scotland charity which supports cancer victims.
The service is being held at Hebron Evangelical Church in Thistle Street, Aberdeen, on Tuesday, at 10am.
