A NEWS producer at BBC Radio Scotland has been elected the president of the National Union of Journalists.
Peter Murray was chosen by the 150 delegates at the union’s annual conference, taking place in Southport, having previously been vice-president. He succeeds Glasgow-based James Doherty.
At the union’s annual delegates meeting (ADM), a number of cost-cutting and revenue-generating measures were agreed, including ADMs will take place every 18 months, as opposed to every year, and there is to be a small increase in the price of membership.
