THE revival of a fund-raising gala evening for Grampian’s media community has decided on the charity that will be the recipients of its fund-raising efforts.
When the Grampian Media Ball takes place in September, it will be the first time it has been staged in three years. And local members of the media, PR and marketing industry will be helping raise cash to help set up the area’s first National Literacy Trust project for young people.
The event is expected to attract over 250 people and is being sponsored by local corporate communications outfit, AVC Media Enterprises.
Last year, the Trust’s ‘Reading is Fundamental’ scheme helped over 20,000 young people throughout the UK, by providing over 60,000 books and organising visits by authors and storytellers to youth groups.
