THE Scotsman newspaper, plus Scotland on Sunday and the Edinburgh Evening News, are not providing its owners quite the level of profit it is used to, but – according to latest financial results – a very healthy return, nevertheless.
Says Johnston Press, in its half-year interim results, a 23.9 per cent profit has been delivered by its new titles acquired since July last year (Scotsman Publications being its only ones – bought at the beginning of the year), as opposed to an average 35 per cent for the group as a whole.
