FOLLOWING success at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival, a short film produced by an Edinburgh-based company is headed for even more festivals.
The Way We Played (Kako smo se Igrali), produced by Brazen Hussies, with funding from Scottish Screen, is bound for Sapporo, Goyang, the Neuva Mirada Film Festival for Children and Youth in Argentina, Bunter Hund in Germany, Curtocircuito 06 International Short Film Festival of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and the prestigious Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.
November will see the film featured at the Encounters Short Film Festival Bristol and Cardiff Film Festival before heading east again to the International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Armenia and the Istanbul International Children’s Film Festival.
With previous festivals at the likes of Montreal, Weiterstadt, and Palm Springs already ‘in the bag’, the number of screenings around the globe will soon pass the 20 mark.
Earlier this year, the film won a silver Remi award at the Houston WorldFest International Film Festival and last year received a BAFTA Scotland Award for Bosnian director, Samir Mehanovic.
P.S. Spike readers who missed The Way We Played first time around at Edinburgh, can see it again in the capital, on the 28th of next month, as part of a Scottish-Irish film festival at the Filmhouse.
