TWO presenters from Radio Forth have reached the shortlist for an international radio award.
Diane Lester (who is no longer with the station) and Darren Adam have been confirmed as finalists in the 2006 New York Radio Awards – part of a series of media festivals hosted by the ‘Big Apple’.
The pair are in the running for the Best Personality: Local Market category, the winner of which will be announced at an awards ceremony and dinner at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on the 12th of next month.
Thing is, as Spike recently reported, Diane is no longer presenting, having taken an offer of redundancy. It is understood the pair promise to “celebrate loudly”.
It is also expected Diane’s phone to be ‘red hot’ with offers.
But Radio Forth was not the only Scottish station to reach the final of the awards.
In Best Editing: Programs/Series Promotion, there is ‘Home Front – Ayrshire Wartime Memories’, from West FM and West Sound.
Meanwhile, Radio Clyde was boasting not one but three finalists: 102.5 Clyde 1 (Best Top 40 Format), Live8 and the G8 (Best Special Event) and ‘Radio Clyde’s Cash for Kids’ (Community Service).
