AHEAD of its annual general meeting today, in London, the publishers of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers have announced a 30 per cent drop in advertising revenue during the first four months of this year – contributing towards an overall drop in revenue of 18 per cent.
Says Trinity Mirror, the ad revenue picture is even bleaker among its regional titles: a drop of 36 per cent.
For its national titles – including the Daily Record and Sunday Mail – that means a less depressing 17 per cent drop.
In its interim management statement, the company goes on to say that group circulation revenues for the period have fallen by four per cent – comprising a fall of eight among regional titles and three per cent among its national ones.
