TO mark a 48-hour strike of journalists at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers – which began this morning – there is to be a rally of supporters in Glasgow at lunchtime.
The strike action – by members of the National Union of Journalists – is taking place in protest at compulsory redundancies at the papers and follows two, 24 hour-long walkouts – last weekend and the weekend before.
And a NUJ-organised rally in support of the strikers has been scheduled for outside the Daily Record/Sunday Mail HQ – at 1 Central Quay, Glasgow – for 1pm.
