ARGUABLY the UK’s foremost documentary film competition is calling for entries.
The Grierson Awards – set up in memory of Scottish documentary filmmaker, John Grierson, considered the ‘father of documentary’ – is offering prizes across nine categories.
The deadline for entries is the 29th of next month.
Say the organisers: “The Grierson Awards are for film and television documentary and recognise outstanding films that demonstrate integrity, originality and technical excellence, and social or cultural significance.”
A shortlist of eight entries per category will be announced on August 4, followed by a further whittling down to four per category, at the end of September.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on November 3.
