THE Times and Sunday Times Scotland newspaper are the only daily and Sunday newspapers to have registered an increase in their sales in Scotland, between February last year and last month.
According to the ABCs, the two titles registered year-on-year sales – as measured by Average Net Circulation in Scotland – of 1.99 per cent for The Times and 4.8 per cent for the Sunday Times Scotland. Translated, an increase of 542 (from 27,223 during February last year to 27,765 last month) for The Times and an increase of 3251 (from 67,234 during February last year to 70,485 last month) for the Sunday Times Scotland.
Meanwhile, the year-on-year figures for Scotland’s two biggest-selling daily newspapers were both down: 7.98 per cent for the Scottish Sun and 11.2 per cent for the Daily Record.

Daily Mail (121,113 versus 127,260, down 6147 or 4.8 per cent), Daily Telegraph (22,755 versus 23,254, down 499 or 2.15 per cent), Financial Times (4,972 versus 5,341, down 369 or 6.9 per cent), The Herald (59,933 versus 66,350, down 6,417 or 9.67 per cent), The Guardian (15,478 versus 16,375, down 897 or 5.48 per cent), and The Independent (8711 versus 10,098, down 1,387 or 13.7 per cent).
The Scotsman (48,073 versus 52,250, down 4,177 or 7.99 per cent), The Times (27,765 versus 27,223, up 542 or 1.99 per cent ), Daily Star Sunday (27,849 versus 29,837, down 2,008 or 6.7 per cent), News of the World (269,622 versus 296,542, down 26,920 or 9.08 per cent), and Sunday Mail (408,563 versus 452,036, down 44,373 or 9.79 per cent).
