ONE of Scotland’s best-known education journalists has stepped down as Scottish editor of The Times Higher Education, formerly known as The Times Higher Education Supplement.
Olga Wojtas, who has held the Scottish editor post at the weekly title for over 20 years, is leaving on health grounds, but is hoping to return soon to writing, in a freelance capacity.
Before she was appointed editor, she was the paper’s Scottish correspondent.
Her journalism career began in 1978 with the Aberdeen Evening Express newspaper, first as a reporter, then as a feature writer. Back then, the Evening Express was owned by Thomson Regional Newspapers, which also owned the THES.
