THE editor of the Edinburgh Evening News, John McLellan, has been appointed to the board of the Press Complaints Commission.
Following a nomination from the Scottish Daily Newspaper Society, he will replace Derek Tucker, editor of the Aberdeen Press and Journal, who retired from the Commission at the end of last year.
McLellan, who will be one of seven editors sitting on the 17-member Commission, has been editor of the Evening News since 2004.
Before that, he edited Scotland on Sunday for three years after his first stint editing the Evening News, which began in 1997.
