THE new chief executive of Scotsman publishers, Johnston Press, has already begun his new job – in order to allow his predecessor to smooth the transition.
John Fry took up the reins of the company yesterday, with Tim Bowdler – newly-appointed non-executive chair of the Press Association – being retained to oversee a handover.
The appointment of Fry, former boss of the Archant media group, had been announced in September, with the expectation being he would be taking over in May.
Yesterday, Johnston Press shares closed at 12.5 pence.
