THE tributes flooded in for political journalist, Colin Mackay, on Friday evening – as he presented his last Scotland at Ten programme on BBC Radio Scotland. Gordon Brown, Michael Forsyth, Menzies Campbell and Jim Sillars all sang his praises, after 16 years presenting BBC Radio Scotland political programmes and 41 years reporting politics, including 19 years at Scottish Television.
Gordon Brown said that when he arrived at Scottish Television, as a researcher, he realised there was little point trying to compete with Colin, and that he should go off into politics instead.
