A SENIOR editorial manager in part responsible for all of BBC Scotland’s content for audiences in Scotland and across the UK – on television, radio and other platforms – is to leave early next year.
Joint head of Programmes and Services at BBC Scotland, Maggie Cunningham, has decided to leave early next year.
Says BBC Scotland contoller, Ken MacQuarrie: “Maggie has brought inspired editorial leadership to BBC Scotland over the last 19 years, and I’m very grateful for all that she has achieved on behalf of our audiences.”
Donalda MacKinnon will become the single head of Programmes and Services, with immediate effect, having previously shared the post with Cunningham.
Added MacQuarrie: “Over the next few months before she leaves, I have asked Maggie to lead on some key editorial and strategic pieces of work for both myself and Donalda which will help position BBC Scotland for the next phase of our Creative Future journey.”
Said Cunningham: “It is a great privilege to work for the BBC and I have had enormous enjoyment throughout my career here. BBC Scotland is in robust creative health and I will miss the many talented teams that I have had the pleasure of working with. It is now time for me to move on and find new challenges.”
