WATCHING television in the Borders is now only possible via a digital signal and dedicated TV monitor, following the switching off of the last remaining analogue signal last night.
Around midnight, the switch off process – which began a fortnight ago with BBC TWO – was completed.
Some 50,000 households have been affected by the move, which began with a trial in the town of Whitehaven, in Cumbria, last year and will continue across the whole of the UK over the next couple of years.
Borders is the first region in the UK to go fully digital.
