RAY Smith, the communications manager at the Knockhill Racing Circuit, in Fife, was briefly wondering why he wasn’t getting through to The Scottish Sun’s motorcycling correspondent, Craig Martin, on his mobile telephone.
Martin had enjoyed a ride around the track at the weekend, in the company of motorcycling legend, Niall Mackenzie.
And the reason why Martin wasn’t picking up was that, until Smith twigged, it was he who had the phone.
Smith had been trying to call Martin to inform him that his mobile had been found, after being lost at the track – albeit in 32 pieces, collected in a plastic bag.
