THE publishers of The Press and Journal have taken third place in UK awards celebrating the best of newspaper advertising and digital media.
The awards – run by the Newspaper Society – saw Aberdeen Journals last night finish behind the Irish News and, winner, the Hull Daily Mail, in the overal category.
Among the specific category gold, silver and bronze winners was The Herald, which took gold in the specific category of ‘Supplement or section of the year’, and www.scotsman.com, which won the ‘Client sponsorship package of the year’ title.
In the ‘Entertainment and leisure supplement of the year’ category, gold went to Scotland on Sunday, while The Herald added to its gold tally with victory in the ‘Property supplement or section of the year’ category, in which it also took third place.
In the ‘Advertisement of the year’ category, the Evening Express took silver, while The Press and Journal scooped both gold and silver in the ‘Motor advertisement of the year’ award. The P&J also took bronze in race for the ‘Property advertisement of the year’ title and silver in the ‘Business supplement of the year’ section.
Silver also went to the Evening Express in both the ‘Feature advertising of the year’ and ‘Classified section of the year’ awards, the latter category also seeing the P&J take bronze.
The P&J’s haul was not finished, with silver in the ‘Newspaper-initiated event of the year’ and gold in the ‘Advertising sales executive of the year’ – for Neil Dow.
Meanwhile, www.scotsman.com took silver in the ‘Blog of the year’.
Bronze in the ‘Digital team of the year’ category went to Clyde and Forth Press.
