CONGRATULATIONS to the BBC Scotland cricket team whose debut season has ended with them being crowned champions.
Reports in-house magazine, Ariel, the team began their Western Division (Evening League, Division Three) season rather shakily, but then went on an “inspired five-game winning run”.
It continues: “Tony Followell led the bowing, taking 15 wickets; floor manager, Peter Mellis, was the highest-scoring batsman, with 173 runs; and exec producer, Toby Stevens, produced the all-round performance of the season, with 169 runs and six wickets.”
