New drama starting tonight on stv

A NEW drama series starts tonight on stv.

Set in a residential rehab clinic, Cracked is being publicised as a “touching, honest and often humorous look at mental health problems and their effect on people’s everyday lives in the 21st century”.

Continues stv: “Over six episodes, the series deals with issues that are difficult and dark, but also the more light hearted and comical situations, all of which will engage and intrigue viewers as the drama unfolds.”

Written by Clare Hemphill and Kate Donnelly, its characters include a sex-addicted lawyer, a ‘top salesman’ who suffers from hypomania, a failed reality TV contestant who has obsessive compulsive disorder, and depressed policeman.

Adds Bobby Hain, managing director (broadcasting) at stv: “I’m really excited to introduce another high quality Scottish drama to the stv evening schedule, and I hope viewers will make it a must-see during the next six weeks. Cracked is an unique, engaging series and I’m confident it will be as well received as [recent TV drama] High Times.”

Cracked is directed by David McKay and Clara Glynn, produced by Carolynne Sinclair Kidd and executive produced by SMG Productions’ head of drama, Eric Coulter.

It’s on tonight, at 22.40.
