A RECENT winner of the ‘Journalist of the year’ title at the Scottish Press Awards is understood to be leaving The Herald newspaper, for Scotland on Sunday.
He moved from the Evening Times, where he was chief reporter, to The Herald at the same time current Herald editor, Charles McGhee, made a similar switch.
He is now serving his notice. It is believed it is a reporter’s post he will be moving to.
His imminent departure coincides with another high-profile loss for the newspaper group, Evening Times reporter, Chris Musson, having just joined the Daily Record.
Chris, who had been at the Evening Times for just over three years, was Press Gazette’s ‘UK student journalist of the year’ in 2003 and was shortlisted in the ‘Specialist reporter of the year’ category at last year’s Regional Press Awards.
His ‘Crime on your street’ series was runner-up in the ‘Campaign of the year’ category at last year’s Scottish Press Awards.
He is to do across-the-board news reporting at the Record.
