BEING a Scottish woman and working in the film industry is to be the focus of a seminar in Glasgow.
Regular, short film showcase, The Magic Lantern, is hosting a panel discussion on the evolution of Scottish women directors and the issues faced by women working in the screen industry in Scotland today.
Featured filmmakers, Mandy McIntosh and Ruth Paxton, will be on hand to talk about their films, alongside award-winning BBC writer/director, Eleanor Yule, and GMAC (Glasgow Media Access Centre) short film executive, Karen O’Hare.
The event is taking place on Saturday. Featured will be work from, among others, Ruby Grierson, Margaret Tait and Lynne Ramsay.
There will be screenings too of short films from the London-based international women’s film festival, Birds Eye View.
A ‘Birds Eye View’ tour of Glasgow is taking place between Thursday and 14th of next month.
