SOME of the biggest names in documentary filmmaking have been lined up for this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Artistic director, Hannah McGill, has announced 22 documentaries, many of them winners at other film festivals, including James Marsh’s ‘Man on Wire’, which won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Meanwhile, ‘Standard Operating Procedure’, by Errol Morris, was the Jury Prize winner at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Morris is expected to attend the screening of his documentary, perhaps accompanied by his friend, film director, Werner Herzog.
