IT was a good night for The Sun newspaper at the British Press Awards, held on Tuesday evening.
The paper picked up four prizes, including Scoop of the Year and Reporter of the Year.
And not far behind was the Financial Times, which took three awards, winning the Newspaper of the Year title and prizes for two of its journalists.
The Daily Record had been shortlisted for the Cudlipp Award, which ‘recognises excellence in popular journalism’.
The paper was joined among the nominations by Scot, Ally Ross, who was a contender for ‘Critic of the year’.
Both were unsuccessful.
