TWO BBC Scotland documentaries shortlisted for prizes at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards have each taken their category titles.
The ‘Science and natural history’ award went to Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives while the ‘Nations and regions programme’ award went to Boys Behind Bars.
In addition, Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives has also been nominated for a British Academy Television Award in the ‘Single documentary; category which will be announced on the 20th of next month.
The documentary follows rock musician, Mark Everett, aka Eels, trying to find out more about his late father, the quantum physicist, Hugh Everett III. It was made by BBC Scotland for BBC Four, and produced by Louise Lockwood and Andrew Thompson.
Boys Behind Bars involved six months filming at Polmont Young Offenders Institute. Screened in two parts, it was made by Jules Kean and Michelle Friel, for BBC One Scotland
