FANS of the radio broadcaster, Scottie McClue, may be protesting today at his axing from Scotland’s only commercial all-speech radio station: talk107.
McClue is one of three presenters who have left the station within the last fortnight – the others being breakfast show co-host, Susan Morrison, and programme director and presenter of his own show, Mike Graham.
In a bid to change the feel and sound of the station, owners, UTV, are said to have also served redundancy notices to half a dozen off-air staff.
And according to a website forum, ardent fans of McClue are supposed to be protesting outside the Edinburgh-based station this afternoon.
Meanwhile, fans have also started a web petition to get McClue re-instated at the station, although it has been spoiled – unless you believe The Queen, Gordon Brown and station director, Matt Allitt, really have added their ‘signatures’ to it.
