A FORMER Scotland Government special adviser, now working for a Scottish public affairs and PR consultancy, is reported to be in the running for the post of general-secretary of the Scottish Labour Party.
Andy Rowe, public affairs director at Glasgow-based McGarvie Morrison Media, is on a short-leet of four for the job.
Rowe was a key special adviser working with both the Scottish Executive and Downing Street, from 1999 to last year.
The political press corps described him as a ‘presentational guru’ in recognition of his adept handling of public appointments for Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Scotland’s first three First Ministers.
Prior to that he was head of commercial marketing of the UK Labour Party, in charge of corporate sponsorship.
