THE former BBC One Controller who resigned recently over a misleading trailer for a documentary about the Queen has been chosen to give the keynote speech at this year’s Edinburgh International TV Festival.
Peter Fincham is to deliver this year’s MacTaggart Lecture , at the festival, which is taking place between August 24 and 26.
Says Fincham: “Being invited to deliver the MacTaggart is like being asked to be a guest on Desert Island Discs – you don’t turn it down. It’s an enormous honour, as well as an opportunity to reflect on the enormous challenges facing the broadcasting industry in the digital age. I’m looking forward to it with relish.”
