FROM Monday, news on stv is to get a new look, with the launch of a news magazine show, from 5.30pm.
To be presented by Debi Edward and Stephen Jardine, the ‘five thirty show’ will tee up the following Scotland Today programme at 6pm, with a more informal take on the day’s news.
Says stv: “Every day, the team will discuss the topics that everyone’s talking about in an informal and accessible way – from the latest health news, how to pay off your debt and which films to see at the weekend, to all the latest sport stories, celebrity chats, music performances and live interviews with the people behind the headlines.”
Edward and Jardine will be backed by roving reporters, Vicky Lee, a well-known stv presenter, and new face, Natasha Still.
Reporting on entertainment will be Grant Lauchlan, on sport, Gerry McCulloch, and the weather, Sean Batty.
Says Edward: “It’s very exciting to be launching the new show – there’s a real buzz in the newsroom and after all the planning and preparation I just can’t wait to go live.”
Adds Jardine: “The five thirty show will be the place to go for all the relevant stories – the real watercooler topics that everyone’s talking about. We want viewers to be part of the show and interact with the team, to help us make the programme as relevant as possible to the stv audience.”
