ALMOST 22 million households in UK – some 86 per cent of the total – now have digital television on their main TV, according to research published by broadcasting regulators, Ofcom.
Says Ofcom, between July and September, there were some 2.4 million purchases of the Freeview multi-channel package alone.
On the previous quarter, the number of households with digital TV on their main set was up by 1.1 per cent.
But one of the biggest areas of growth is in the number of households whose secondary sets are now digital: nearly 12 million, up by 1.3 million during the quarter and up by 50 per cent over the past year.
