Journalist invite to ‘online speaker’s corner’

JOURNALISTS are being invited to submit short, filmed news footage to a debating and current affairs website.

Says online video site, Friction.tv, it “is seeking illuminating, controversial and gripping submissions from established and aspiring journalists”.

In just six months, Friction.tv has attracted opinion pieces from the likes of David Cameron, Tony Benn, Margo McDonald, Howard Marks, Emma Thompson and Tommy Sheridan. More than 150,000 unique users a month are watching Friction films.

Once footage has been shot, it can easily be uploaded direct to the site by anyone registered to it.

Stephen Khan, a former Scotland editor of The Observer, is Friction.tv’s editorial consultant.
