A FORMER head of public relations and marketing at Glasgow City Council is to be the new treasurer of the UK-wide Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
John Brown is now a PR and communications consultant, based in Glasgow, and he takes up the post at the start of next year.
He is a former chair of the Scottish branch of the CIPR, and also head of PR of Glasgow City Council’s predecessor authority, Strathclyde Regional Council.
Said Brown: “I am delighted to be elected Treasurer for next year, as the CIPR celebrates its 60th birthday. This will be a big year for the CIPR and I look forward to ensuring that it continues to lead the profession, increase its membership and member services, and be a strong voice for the public relations profession – demonstrating the contribution PR makes to business and society.”
