A FREE newspaper for the Scottish business community is being launched by the publishers of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers.
20,000 copies of the weekly, ‘Business 7’, are being printed, for distribution at ‘key commuter points’, such as rail stations, each Friday.
Publishers, Trinity Mirror, already publish a monthly Scottish business magazine, Insider Magazine. An accompanying website, Business7.co.uk, will include a daily business news update.
The paper will be headed up by Alasdair Northrop as editor-in-chief and Jonathan Russell as editor.
Northrop is also editor of Insider Magazine. Also joining the team will be Erikka Askeland who will take up the position of chief reporter having formerly been deputy editor of Insider Magazine.
The launch date has yet to be announced.
Says Mark Hollinshead, managing director of Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd: “The combination of our market-leading monthly magazine, our quintet of blue chip-branded Insider business events, together with Business7.co.uk and our new weekly business newspaper, will further develop and strengthen our position in this key market segment.”
