TWO radio shows being broadcast out of Dundee have won a poll to find the best radio shows in the north of Scotland.
In the breakfast show category, Wave 102’s, with Peter Mac, came out tops, while, in the drivetime category, the honours went to Tay FM’s, with Dave Connor.
The poll itself was run by media website, Merry Media.
Peter Mac’s show took ten per cent of the votes. Second place went Stuart Webster’s on Tay FM, with third place going to Kenny King’s show on Waves Radio Peterhead.
Said Peter: “I’m really surprised to win this award as it was a tough category with very good presenters, mind you after eight years – Scotland’s second-longest breakie show – I had given up on winning anything. Thanks to everyone who voted for me – it’s greatly appreciated and you’ve made a 40 year-old breakie presenter very happy.”
Dave Connor, meanwhile, took 13 per cent of the votes in his category, with second place going to Northsound 1’s Andy James and third place going to Northsound 2’s Martin Ingram.
Said Dave: “Great news. I’m delighted to have come out top in the poll against such strong competition from some great jocks. Maybe the boss will actually start paying me now.”
The poll was open to people working in radio, local businesses and listeners.
